The maintenance area had the oven, the boiler and firewood. The oven is located between the pools in the warm room and preserves the pipe and the combustion chamber, as well as the hypocaust (underground galleries). It was separated from the warm room by a marble lattice.
The oven was made of fireproof bricks. It was always kept in use to stop the boiler from breaking, and it was only put out when the boiler had to be moved or repaired.
