This marble capital belongs to the caliphal era, in the 10th Century. It probably crowned one of the columns which decorated the lukewarm water room of the caliphal bath, a meeting and relaxing area. This piece highlights the use of the drilling technique in the treatment of the acanthus leaves, creating a deeper stone carving.
