This is the most important room in the thermal bath. This room has a quadrangular plan layout. It has a perimeter gallery covered with barrel vaults which are supported by arcades and columns. It was decorated by red ochre mural paintings and marble skirting boards. The most outstanding element is the floral designs painted on the horseshoes arches (salmeres), a unique identifying feature of Al-Andalus’ art.
In this room there are body cleaning areas also. This is where the caliph received the personal hygiene and daily care, such as massages, shaving, hairdressing and dressing. Prominent visitors were received in the lukewarm water room, and the Cordoba court held its political meetings here.
