The Invasion of Córdoba (2 of 2)

The Invasion of Córdoba (2 of 2)

Never-ending internal conflicts existing during the reign of Abd ar-Rahman I seemed to weaken the Muslim power in al-Andalus. With the arrival of Abd ar-Rahman III to the throne in the 9th century there was a stop to all the internal revolts. He also claimed several victories against the Christians in the Northern kingdoms of Spain. His new government was founded in the new Court city of Madinat al-Zahra, he established the Caliphate of Córdoba, until 1031. This was al-Andalus' most political, cultural and trade splendour period.
